Texas Revolution Announces Move to Frisco, Dr Pepper Arena

Frisco, Texas – (August 30, 2017) – Dr Pepper Arena, the Texas Revolution Professional Indoor Football Team, and City of Frisco officials held a press conference Wednesday to celebrate the cities newest sports team added to the fold – the 2017 CIF Champions Texas Revolution.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be here in Frisco, to be partnered with so many loving and passionate individuals who want to see the city and the team succeed,” said Revolution CEO Tommy Benizio. “There’s nothing more special than winning a championship and getting an opportunity to bring that championship and championship entertainment to larger crowds in a bigger spotlight.”

Also announced today is a new reality show to be shot in Frisco, “Between the Pads – the Revolution” produced by Showbusiness International. Pairing pigskin with Lone Star personalities, Showbusiness International and the Texas Revs athletes offer up an insiders’ look to fans, friends and family. On the turf and behind the scenes footage delivers football directly to your living room. More information about the show will be announced at a later date. Texas’ first game at Dr Pepper Arena will be in February. Dates, times and the full CIF schedule will be announced later this fall, along with new opponents, new office headquarters, tryout information and player signings. The arena seats roughly 4,000 in an indoor football configuration. Texas’ average attendance in 2016 was 4,169 – the highest average attendance in team history.

The Texas Revolution are a professional indoor football team, playing in Champions Indoor Football League. The Revolution completed their fifth season of competition in 2017 after defeating the Omaha Beef 59-49 in Champions Bowl III in front of 5,251 fans.

Dr Pepper Arena is a multi-purpose venue which hosts a variety of sporting events, concerts, family shows, trade and corporate conventions and religious gatherings. Home to the Dallas Stars Executive Offices as well as the Texas Legends of the NBA G-League, the venue seats up to 6,000 people and has a 1500-space parking garage.
