CIF Rookie of the Year Michael Dyer back with Revs

November 8, 2017

The Texas Revolution is bringing the battle to Frisco and have signed their second wave of players since league free agency began October 1. The following is a summary of those signings, headlined by Michael Dyer, who took home CIF Rookie of the Year honors in 2017 leading the league in rushing yards (728), yards per return (23.3) and in return touchdowns (4). He was second in the league in all-purpose yards per game (124.3) and rushing touchdowns (24).

RETURNERS: Marcel Brooks, Cody Berry, Quantence Walker

Brooks rose up the depth chart last season and despite playing in just nine games, finished 6th on the team in total tackles. Brooks added a sack, an interception and two fumble recoveries to his season stat line in the process.

Berry’s season was cut short last season due to injury, only playing in three games. The defensive back played in three games averaging four tackles a game with two pass break-ups. Out of UTSA, Berry’s brother – Darian Weems – plays on the offensive line for the Dallas Cowboys.

Walker saw action late in the season last year. Out of Abilene Christian, Walker will be playing linebacker for the Revs in 2018.

ROOKIES: Aaron Bellazin, Brett Bowers, Curtis Green

Bellazin played defensive line at North Texas, earning Conference-USA all-conference 2nd team honors back in 2013. He started in 13 games his senior season, recording 9 sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss. Bowers played his college ball at Oklahoma at DB and Green played at Lon Morris College. Green signs with the Revs as a RB/WR.
